Continental Drummer Painted

Here he is painted. The drum design is my own. I wanted something "celestial", so I chose a sun motif with a kinda period look. I wish I had him still. These pics are horrid!

Continental Army Drummer AWI 54mm

I had to "reach" a little to come up with a pose like this. I mean, It's a pose you don't see everyday. It looks kinda comfortable. The Hornet head has the boyish features I was looking for too and fits the subject perfectly. The figure was sculpted with Aves and Duro. The drum was scratch-built.

Highland Drummer, 71st Regiment of Foot

One of several drummers modeled over the winter. The 54mm figure was sculpted with Aves and Duro. Head from Historex. Again, the drum was scratch-built. Painted with acrylics. Painting drummers lace in 54mm...NOT easy!

A feast for the eyes! I do believe this paint job is from the talented hands of Danilo Cartacci. I've re-posted the image because the previous one was too dark...And this piece deserves another post! Thanks again Gary!

MFCA 2012 Pics (7)

There was some wonderful, mind-blowing pieces being displayed in the fantasy category. The creativity, combined with skill, takes the figure hobby to another level. I feel the future of the hobby depends on the historical side continuing to embrace this genre.

MFCA 2012 Pics (4)

Sorry for dark pics. I wish I had the time to set up and shoot better pictures, but with the tables so full of wonderful work, I was anxious to get to the next display. I'm not sure who makes the French "corsair" figure but he's got a spot in my grey army. A big thanks to Gary Dombrowski for taking the time to help brighten these pics.

Big ol' pile of heads and armatures for the St. Privat project.
